Triple tree corrosion
« on: May 13, 2013, 10:09:51 AM »
Anyone elses triple tree looking like this. I just bought my bike with only 566 miles on the clock and the only obvious thing is the weird corrosion on the triple tree. Anyone know if this is a clearcoat coming off, or what?

No definitely not, the bike has 566 miles and the keys are not on a ring.

It's a clear coat.

OK well I'm going to polish the clearcoat off and see if I can buff it back to former glory.

You can polish the aluminum back to it's original gloss, and coat it with the aluminum aerosol clearcoat product from the Eastwood Company.  That ought to restore it to it's original appearance.
