Cracked Instrument Panel
« on: September 27, 2015, 12:31:49 PM »
I have recently bought No.0627 with 1200km on the clock. I am thrilled with the bike but there is a crack across the tachometer perpex which is very frustrating - especially as it is such a dominant design feature. If I want to fix this do I need to by a new 'complete instrument panel' or is there a way of opening the unit? Removing the hex bolts and levering gently didn't work! My local dealership don't know the answer and Ducati just refer me back to them. Any advice gratefully received...

Cheers, Nick

Rick

Hi Nick,
You need to get a fine sharp blade and go all around the centre seem to break the silicon seal. The hex bolts don't hold the halls together!

I'll try to snap a few pics tonight.  I think I have a dead one that's opened up in a drawer.
